Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo

JF LAUNIER, RIDLER WINNER AND REGULAR ON RUST VALLEY RESTORERS TO APPEAR AT MOTORAMA

In 2019, JF Launier arrived at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo with Anvil, a 1964 Pontiac Acadian. And when it was time to pack up and head back home to Osoyoos, BC, he did so with the Motorama Grand Champion Award and the winner’s cheque for $5,000.00.

For the sixth edition of the Motorama show, running March 13, 14 & 15, 2020 at Toronto’s International Centre, Launier will not only be an invited Motorama celebrity guest, but he will also be making another attempt to claim the show’s top prize. This year, he’s looking to ‘a true driver,’ a black 1967 GTO built as a feature project on History Channel’s Rust Valley Restorers to get him back on the Pinty’s Stage on Sunday afternoon, holding another big cheque.

“This car has a few body changes, nothing drastic, and is painted dead black,” said Launier. “Under the hood is a big block Chevy and the interior is bright red. With the windows blacked out, [...]

Gotta say this was an incredible weekend for us!  I was honored to be entered into the hall of fame for our win last year. I was also lucky enough to sit with some of the best in the industry and answer questions on our hobby, lifestyle, the direction of the industry. Lots of Tshirts, awards, posters, bumper stickers and even billboards with our car on it thanks to all that help make this crazy car dream a reality.

With 2 runs for the Ridler and 2 Great 8 cars.  Perhaps the third time will be the charm! This year there was a record number of competitors for the Ridler with 63 cars in all.  To be chosen top 8 is a pretty spectacular feeling.  We would like to extend our congratulations to Dwayne Peace, his son and their crew of talented craftsmen for a job well done.  For any who haven’t seen it, you’ll want to check out the Ridler winning T-Bird.  As for us, this weekend finds Gord and Carol in Chicago at the World of Wheels show.  As we had to get back to the shop and back to the business at hand, we wish them a [...]

It’s been a long haul but the 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 (owned by Gord and Carol Phillips) has not only hit the street, but hit is with the wheels spinning!! We started the build in 2009 and are so happy to be chosen as one of the Great 8 at the 2012 Detroit Autorama! We can’t thank our team, the owners, the sponsors and everyone who showed us their support over the past couple years while we were workin on this latest vision. The car was originally pulled from a wrecking yard in the 80′s…… it’s come a long way! Keep your eye on the web for photos, stories and links and wish us luck cuz we’re hoping that we’re going to [...]
